My name is Kiaya Worthen! I am a mother, wife, and Christian and enjoy sewing, playing music, and hanging out with my cats! Growing up I resented a lot of things about my body, and have learned since that many others have similar struggles… which sucks.
A lot of women have been hurt by negative body image and by misconceptions, shame, and fear about their bodies. I believe that love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and that when we understand ourselves better, we love ourselves better. My self-compassion has been increased by coming to terms with my body and learning about what I need to do to take care of it better, but not without a price.
If you are wanting to understand and ultimately love your body better, then I have many things I have learned through unique experiences and opportunities that I think you may be able to appreciate. Knowledge is power (or so my husband says), and I want to put power back into your hands and change the way we all think and talk about our bodies!
I do this by sharing research and practical information about Natural Family Planning, Bra Fittings, and Body Image, which are areas I feel like are often misrepresented or otherwise shrouded in mystery and/or shame. I supplement these topics with my experiences drafting and sewing clothing, my studies in textile science, my continued education in human development, and more.
I believe that you are Precious and that you have an inherent worth, beyond your beauty (meaning of the Amaryllis flower). Each of us have unique needs, and yet have so many similarities, just like flowers do. And so, Precious Amaryllis L3C was born. (See the leaf circle and the woman hugging a heart to her body because she loves it? That’s why it looks like that lol)
